An Occupational therapy session consists of assessment of current level of function and performance in various tasks.
The occupational therapist can hereby identify problem areas and possible causes for the specific difficulties and use clinical reasoning and evidence based practice to provide solutions and a treatment plan that aims to improve the patient’s individual goals as well as therapeutic goals.
Therapeutic intervention includes but isn’t limited to therapeutic exercises, functional activities, evidence based techniques, adaptations (splints, assistive devices, home environment, etc) and home programs.
